Applications

Oil & Gas

Critical media, high safety requirements and sites where every service call is demanding.

Your advantages

01

Hermetically sealed

Safety when handling critical media — no leakage path to the outside.

02

Robust against fault conditions

A closed line and dry running are not a damage case.

03

Little service effort

Relevant wherever on-site call-outs are demanding.

Emissions and tightness

In oil and gas processing, the tightness of units is a topic with direct regulatory and safety relevance. Fugitive emissions via seals are a known problem — and a component that wears in operation inevitably becomes a weak point over time.

The hermetically sealed design of the HODD ranges addresses this by construction: where no dynamic shaft seal exists, there is also no leakage path that could deteriorate. This provides the highest level of safety when handling critical media.

Operational reliability at remote sites

Oil and gas industry plants are often located where a service call means planning, travel and permits. Pump damage is therefore never just a spare parts problem but always a logistical one as well.

Protection with the suction or discharge line closed and dry-run safety take two of the most frequent causes of exactly such call-outs out of operation. Both are states that can never be completely ruled out in running plant operation — but that cause no damage with the HODD ranges.

Solids and aggressive accompanying substances

The media conveyed are rarely clean: sand, deposits, catalyst residues and corrosive accompanying substances are part of normal operation. The combination of chemical and mechanical load is therefore the rule, not the exception.

This is exactly what the design targets: chemically resistant wetted parts for the corrosive side, a wear-resistant construction for the abrasive side. Both together form the design focus of the ranges.

Frequently asked questions

Are the pumps approved for use in hazardous areas?

We clarify explosion protection requirements on an application-specific basis. Please state the required zone and the underlying directive in your enquiry.

How is tightness towards the environment ensured?

Through the hermetically sealed design without a dynamic shaft seal. There is therefore no leakage path that could wear and deteriorate in operation.

How does the pump behave with media containing solids?

The construction is designed to resist wear and is geared towards slurries containing solids. Deposits and abrasive accompanying substances are therefore accounted for.

What documents do you need for sizing?

The medium with its safety data sheet, solids content, flow rate, required pressure as well as the applicable requirements for approval and explosion protection.
